The Hymn Renewal Movement

If you worship with us at New Life a few times, you will notice that we love to sing old hymns to new music. Where do we get the new music? We draw from a growing movement of musicians who have been composing music to re-introduce some old worship songs to a new generation.

Our friends at Grace Presbyterian of Silicon Valley are hosting a concert on February 11th, 8pm in Sunnyvale, CA featuring Sandra McCracken and Matthew Smith, two very gifted song writers who have written many of the songs we sing at New Life.

Luke Brodine, the worship pastor at Grace, has also written about his personal experience in the Hymn Renewal Movement over at his blog, rare.sunshine.

Hope you can make it out to hear some fantastic worship music with profound depth and emotional range.
